Studio Policy The Small but Important Things that Keep our Studio Running Happily!!
Teacher Responsibilities Teachers are responsible for imparting the concepts and skills during class that are also guided for students to do the processing and learning at home each week. We will cover main areas of musicianship: performance, technique, theory, sight-reading, and ear training. We believe that a well-rounded musical education helps students define what music means to them. We will provide instruction appropriate for the level of each student, tailoring the curriculum to match your child’s specific learning needs. Furthermore, we should be enthusiastic and patient during lessons for encouraging students’ emotional involvement. Most importantly, we will maintain open communication with students and parents. We will also strive to keep up with technology in the studio and further our teaching skills through continued education.
Student & Family Responsibilities Students agree to arrive at each lesson punctually, well-prepared, and with their assignment books and music. To make good progress, daily quality practice is necessary. Please arrive at each lesson punctually, well-prepared, and with all necessary materials. If you arrive ten minutes late, your lesson is ten minutes shorter. You reserve the time slot, not the number of minutes. If something is happening at home or school that is affecting your child please let us know. Please let us know more so we can understand better the needs and conditions of your child. A quick SMS on the way to lesson can make the difference between a great lesson and a difficult one. Students must have an acoustic piano or a digital piano(with full-size keyboard (88 keys), fully weighted keys and pedals). Keyboards are also acceptable at the initial stage but parents should be willing to purchase either an acoustic piano or a digital piano in the near future. Parents are welcome to attend lessons. It’s important that the child who is having the lesson is able to focus without interruption and distraction so mobile phones and electronic devices should be placed on silent and if you need to take or make a telephone call, please do so outside and away from the studio doors.
PAYMENT: Quarterly Lessons should be paid in advance in cash or by direct bank transfer quarterly. Lessons will be billed on a school term basis, at the beginning of each term. Tuition fees should be paid by the first lesson of each term. For new students, lessons will be paid one week before the first lesson. There will be a $10 late fee in the next term if payment is not received by the due day.
CANCELLATIONS: As a courtesy, both to teachers and to other students and parents please let us know as soon as possible if you need to cancel a lesson. Lessons cancelled with twenty-four (24) hours notice will be rescheduled for a makeup lesson. Students are responsible to pay for lessons cancelled without twenty-four hours notice. No refund will be given for no-shows or tardiness. If you think you will be delayed, please call to let us know. If the teacher must cancel lessons for any reason, a makeup will be arranged.
STUDIO PHONE: Please feel free to call (0433 581 691) or send a text message between the hours of 9AM and 6PM or email ([email protected]) if you have any cancellations, questions, or need to arrange an interview. It is our sincerest hope that you understand the necessity of establishing a STUDIO POLICY.
